Catherine Pelonero's plays include Family Names and Awesome Ghosts of Ontario, both published by Samuel French. Other works include Puppies with Papers, a finalist for the Heideman Award at Actors Theatre of Louisville; Tragedy on West Utica, featured at La Lupa in Los Angeles; and the absurd comedy, Another Effing Family Drama, which premiered at the 2011 Hollywood Fringe Festival and was chosen for Best of the Fringe. Her short screenplay, Preservation Society, won the Yale University Screenwriting Competition and was filmed and screened on the Yale campus in the summer of 2010.

Pelonero is the author of the nonfiction book, Kitty Genovese: A True Account of a Public Murder and its Private Consequences (Skyhorse Publishing, 2014), a definitive account of the infamous 1964 murder and its controversial aftermath.

Catherine Pelonero is a member of the Dramatists Guild, the Actors Studio Playwrights & Directors Unit, and currently serves as a Vice Chair of the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights (ALAP).  Originally from Buffalo, New York, she currently lives in Los Angeles.
