An actor (the 2010 Season of Redlands Shakespeare Festival and TV shows in the rearview mirror), published playwright Leigh Kennicott has also been a theatre reviewer for Backstage West, Los Angeles Weekly and the Pasadena Weekly, and wrote entertainment features for Arroyo and Verdugo Monthly Magazines. 

Leigh worked in film and television before earning her Ph.D. degree in 2002. Since then, in Los Angeles, she directed a neo-realist "Romeo and Juliet" at the Secret Rose Theatre, and "How I Learned to Drive," "Nickel and Dimed" and "Top Girls," all at College of the Canyons. Her most recent academic directing assignment includes a production of "Antigone" at Mt.San Antonio College.
