About Scarlett Finney

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, and moved to California as a young woman.  Graduated with a B.A. from California State University, Long Beach with a major in Radio and Television and a secondary concentration in Art.  Worked at NBC-TV in Burbank, California where I became interested in writing and joined a writing club there.  Wrote several scripts for NBC television shows, such as "Miami Vice," "Cosby," "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," and "It's Your Move" none of which were produced.  Wrote and self-published a book of poems, ancestry book, and a coffee table art book of original works by an unknown artist.  Wrote my first play titled "The Dream Chest" which won the Negro Ensemble Company's Emerging Playwrights competition, and produced as a workshop in New York at the Urban Stages Theatre in New York in May of 2022.  Just completed my second play, and continuing to work diligently on my writing including a novel.
