Playing With the Pieces

by Maria Viera Beatty

Genre: comedy
Runtime: 9 - 10 mins
Cast: 1 female, 2 males

Synopsis:

A director and two actors collaborate to develop a new theatrical play that explores contemporary culture.  Inspired by the Jean Baudrillard quote: "All that is left to do is play with the pieces.  That’s what postmodernism is… playing with the pieces.”   The play plays with pieces such as "Waiting for Godot," fame, fashion, Facebook, styles, Oscar acceptance speeches, TV talk shows, personal websites, branding, the Internet, and even more in an absurdist, meta-theater kind of way.
