About Maria Beatty
MARIA VIERA BEATTY is a professor emerita, in the Department of Theatre Arts at California State University, Long Beach. She has co-authored two books on film production: Eye of the Storm: Directing Film, Television, and Emerging Media and Lighting for Film and Digital Cinematography. In addition, she as authored over 20 published articles on contemporary film theory. She received her Ph.D. in Cinema-Television from USC. She is a filmmaker who has made numerous short films, documentaries, and over 30 TV commercials.
